American-born second-hand retailer Savers is lifting its South Australian footprint to four stores this week.
Located at the brand-new Richmond Lifestyle Centre in Marleston, South Australia, the store will boast a floor space of 2,580 square metres. It is the fourth Savers store in South Australia and the first new store by the business in more than 10 years, addressing a gap in Adelaide’s western and inner-southern suburbs.
The Marleston store will offer over 100,000 pre-loved items across clothing, accessories, home goods, and other categories, with the majority of items priced under $10.
The new store comes amid a surge in second-hand demand in Australia, with other thrifting retailers such as Uturn taking up new retail spaces across the country. Vinnies Victoria has also launched its first-ever e-commerce website.
A survey by Pureprofile and commissioned by Savers found that 85 per cent of South Australian consumers favour pre-loved items and almost eight in 10 (77 per cent) recognise the growing importance of sustainable fashion.
