Australians favourite sweet and savoury meals revealed in surprising new research

Australians have spoken, with new research revealing our preferred baked good serves as a major snub to homegrown delicacies.

But according to new research, neither of those are among our favourite baked goods. In fact, they don’t even make the top five.

Data commissioned by Foxtel and conducted by Pureprofile ahead of the fifth season premiere of The Great Australian Bake Off (GABO) shows our nation’s most loved sweet guilty pleasure is, drumroll please … Cheesecake.

The savoury-turned-sweet dessert was followed by cookies in second place, doughnuts in third, brownies in fourth and banana bread in fifth.
