How do people prefer to follow the Olympic Games?

We asked 2,796 people in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Singapore, the Netherlands and Germany how they prefer to follow the Olympic Games, and whether they feel inspired by the Olympics to take up a new sport or become more active.

Here’s what we found:

Most people around the world like to follow the Olympics on free-to-air TV, with 85% of Brits and Aussies, 83% of Kiwis and Germans, 72% of Dutch, 70% of Singaporeans and 66% of Americans

19% of Aussies, 18% of Brits, 16% of Americans, 15% of Germans, 12% of Singaporeans, 10% of Dutch and 7% of Kiwis have attended an Olympic Games in person

52% of Singaporeans feel inspired by the Olympics to take up a new sport or become more active, followed by Americans 47%, Germans 37%, Brits 36%, Aussies and Dutch 34% and Kiwis 32%
