To some, the idea of motherhood and self-care may sound counter-intuitive. 

Sure, we just celebrated Mother’s Day, dedicated to celebrating mums and giving them a much-needed break. 

But why is this only prioritised one day of the year? 

Sadly, the majority of mums feel their family’s needs are more important than their own, and it’s more harmful than you may realise.  

In a study conducted by Philips*, more than half (51 per cent) of Australian mums have admitted they don’t prioritise making time for themselves. 

*Research conducted in April 2024 by Pureprofile on behalf of Philips on a nationally representative sample of 1008 Australian parents with at least one child under the age of 18.
