Plant-based eatery Smith and Daughters eyes expansion

Plant-based eateries Smith and Daughters and Smith and Deli have announced a major expansion, with more venues set to open nationally alongside a new wholesale brand.  

Founded by Chef Shannon Martinez, the expansion will start with the launch of a new Smith and Deli venue in Melbourne’s CBD in April.  

It comes as research conducted by Pureprofile on behalf of Smith and Deli reveals 45 per cent of Australian’s eat plant-based meals weekly, and 70 per cent plan to maintain or increase their plant-based food intake over the next 12 months. The research also found 35 per cent believe reducing their meat consumption is one of the most effective ways to reduce their environmental impact.
