Many Australians are interested in EVs – but they’re watching rather than buying. Our report reveals what’s holding people back, and what it will take to convert consideration into commitment.
Based on a nationally representative study of over 2,000 Australians, this is the third wave of Pureprofile’s Australian EV study, following earlier waves in 2023 and 2024 – enabling clear comparisons of how attitudes and behaviours are shifting over time.

- EV and hybrid purchase intent are rising across Waves 1–3
- Cost (28%) and charging access (26%) remain the key barriers, though both have declined since Wave 2
